Pirate Commission – Part IV

After a busy Christmas I’m finally back at the painting desk. The first priority is to finish off this pirate commission. This instalment features a couple of strips of generic, boring pirates. I’ve tried to keep the colours varied with a mix of browns and greys with muted brighter colours. I’ve also thrown in the occasional bright colour to give some interest.

3 walking, armed pirates as well as a cannon ball bearer (who is still waiting for his cannon)

As well as the 8 regular pirates. I’ve also finished 4 of the characters. These are on bigger bases and they’ve received a little extra attention as well as a brighter colour palette. I’m quite happy with how these have turned out.

Black Beard (who used to rule the 7 seas) and Dartanian (a flashy pirate with flowing locks and well kept facial hair)

Lastly here’s a picture of all the completed pirates. There’s another 40 or so of these to go so by the end this will be quite the pirate crew. The varied colours are making this feel like a pretty rag-tag bunch of characters (which is what I’m after and also feels appropriate for a pirate crew).

The pirates finished so far (18 of them).
