Anglo-Danish Hearthguard – Dane’s Axes

Again, these have been sitting around waiting for me to base with static grass, but now they’re done and there weren’t any shields. Yeah!

Most of the colours are the same as for the Anglo/Viking Warriors. However, I made the following tweaks to the common elements

  • Chainmail, Helmet & Axe Blade:
    • Base: Oily Steel (VMC 70.865)
    • Wash: Dark Wash (A.MIG-1008)
    • Highlight: Base
    • Highlight II: Silver (VMC 70.997)
  • Axe Handle:
    • Base: Beige Brown (VMC 70.875)
    • Wash: Sepia Shade (VGC 73.200)
    • Grain: German Camouflage Black Brown (VMC 70.822)
  • Straps:
    • Base: Saddle Brown (VMC 70.940)
  • Pouches:
    • Base: Brown Sand (VMC 70.876)
    • Wash: Sepia Shade (VGC 73.200)
  • Shoes:
    • Base: Red Leather (VMC 70.818)
    • Wash: Inktense Chesnut (SC-81)
  • Sword Handles:
    • Base: German Camouflage Black Brown (VMC 70.822)
    • Highlight: Beige Brown (VMC 70.875)
  • Sword Hilts:
    • Base: German Grey (VMC 70.995)
    • Highlight: London Grey (VMC 70.836)

I also used most of the same colours for the tunics and clothes, with the following additions.

  • Red Tunic:
    • Base: Deep Red (SC-35)
    • Highlight I: Blood Red (SC-36)
    • Highlight II: Alderaran Red (SC-38)
  • Purple Tunic:
    • Base: Sunset Purple (SC-33)
    • Highlight I: Blue Violet (VMC 70.811)
