I’ve done a few odds and ends for my Northern Alliance warband. First I finished my 5 dwarves. These are very basic, very weak grunts (decidedly un-dwarven characters). Still they’ve proved useful taking objects, sacrificing into things, finishing off downed figures, supplying an out number and adding to the size of the warband. This last fact is important for survivability as when you lose half your troops you have to start testing your resolve every time you touch a miniature. So some numbers that you try and keep alive can be useful. And if someone is trying to kill a dwarf they’re leaving the big scary troll alone.

Next up is a Theign (a leader that’s an upgraded Huscarl). I typically run him as a Huscarl as I’m running 3 big guys (2 Snow trolls and a Frostfang which leaves very few points for extra).

Lastly I have a Half-Elf Beserker. She is essentially a hand grenade with very low armour, but a good melee punch. I find her difficult to run as she’s expensive, gets picked on and can’t really stand up for herself. The staying power of the Huscarls does a better job of supporting the big guys
