September 2025 Recap

There was a lot of OPR: Grimdark played at the Monday Knights during September. We’ve picked this game up recently, with many people being new to the game, led by a few with more experience. It has given some of the older gamers a great opportunity to dust off their old Warhammer 40K collections, put them on the table and roll handfuls of dice in a Sci-Fi, grim dark universe. There are also plenty of players with OPR miniatures and other WH40K adjacent miniatures, including an Orky Batmobile!

Another game that is new to the Monday Knights that saw play during September is Void Admirals. My personal opinion is that there isn’t enough space ship pew pew going on around the club, so this was a welcome sight.

As usual there was plenty of BattleTech, including some scenario battles from one of the original BT scenario books, Tales of the Black Widow Company.

Other games played this month included ADLG, Malifaux 4th ed, and Conquest.

Crudboy's initiation into war gaming was with Battletech way back in high school, where he spent more time creating 'mechs with his friends, and not nearly enough time actually playing the game. Since then, Crudboy has dabbled in so many different tabletop games that he no longer remembers which rule goes with which game. His latest loves include, but aren't confined to, Frostgrave, Gloomhaven, and Gaslands.
