I’ve been a bit negligent of the blog for a little while. I’ve been doing hobby stuff, just not posting. Anyway, this is just a quick post of the X-Wings from the Star Wars Armada core set. I don’t plan on playing much of the Rebels, but I thought I’d paint these up. And, although not as good as Rule37 painted X-Wings, I’m happy with how they turned out. I’m not sure what the next blog post will be, I’ve got a worse than usual case of gamer A.D.D. at the moment.
Old Games Revived
Old Games revived, sometimes they are revived because they are good systems that you just needed a break from, sometimes nostalgia, and sometimes because the game went from a wild power creep to something else.
Enter Malifaux, the knights had some encouragement but some have gone back to look at the game.
Flames of War Tournament Wrapup
We just had two tournaments in two weeks, while at the same time there was also a tournament in Sydney, which none of us went to.
We will start of in Tassie, with the Kingston Kup in the middle of a Tasmanian winter, and finish with Badgercon, where the lads from Bendigo held a series of tournaments for their clubs open day.
Kingston Kup

This year is no different, and this year I am making the time to go down and play as well.
For the most part I was going to play an easy transport army, but the comp this year requires many different lists.
Star Wars Armada Fleet Tool
It’s been a productive time in Nanotank labs over the last couple of weeks. Almost no miniatures have been painted, but a couple of other miniature related projects have progressed nicely. The first one is a fleet builder for Star Wars Armada that I’ve called swaft. I’m a fan of minimalist interfaces so it’s fairly … Read more
Tie Fighters
Star Wars Armada is the latest high buzz miniatures game to come from Fantasy Flight Games. I’ve avoided getting into the other Star Wars title, but I’ve been looking for a playable capital ship game and I’ve got a lot of time for FFG’s writers and editors. As a result I’ve given this game a go, and I’ve got to say I’m very impressed. However, this post is not a review of the game, rather a short post about how I painted my Tie Fighters.
